Stephen Curry

So every once in a while, i will do a small biography on some of my favorite players in the NBA. Today i have chosen Stephen Curry, the 6"3 gaurd of the Golden State Warriors. He was Born in Akron, Ohio, and played college ball at Davidson. His Dad, Dell Curry, and his mom, Sonya Curry, were both professional athletes. His mom played volleyball, while his dad played basketball. He was a great athlete at Davidson, and he set many scoring records there. He also set the record for the most 3 pointers in 1 season of NCAA. He averaged over 20 points in each of the 3 years that he stayed at Davidson.

In June of 2009, Stephen Curry was selected by the Warriors as the 7th draft pick into the NBA. He had a slow start in the NBA, but after Coach Don Nelson realized his talent, he finally started playing Steph more. Steph began to blow up in stats after the first stretch of the season, and average 17 points, 5 assists, and 5 rebounds a game. He ended his freshman season with a great finish and had 2 triple doubles. With the trades made this summer, Stephen Curry seems like he will have more opportunites to make great plays. Right now, he has made one of the twelve spots on Team USA. Although he doesn't get much playing time, he still contributes.I look forward to seeing him this season because he is a spectacular player, and he makes the game very exciting for fans like me. I expect a big season out of him, as i watch him begin to develop a very solid game.

Basketball's History

Dr. James Naismith invented basketball on 1891 in Springfield. Working for the YMCA, he wanted to create a game of skill for kids to play. Little did he know, that he would invent one of the largest sports played worldwide today. In 1936, basketball was introduced in the Berlin Olympics, and it was then that basketball would begin to spread. Basketball is now played world wide, and there are many basketball leagues around the world. It is very popular in the United States because of it's two top leagues, the NBA and WNBA.
In my opinion, basketball is my favorite sport. I like the fast paced gameplay, and the skill/entertainment that it provides. I also play basketball myself, and a lot of my friends do to. It is a sport that helps to clear the mind, and you can really get into the sport.
